Marsch’s Canada held the front line when chasing the goalkeeper would stretch the block, and South Africa’s 58 percent possession produced one shot on target. Morocco then won 3-0 by scoring without needing Canada to overpress.
Mohamed Ouahbi, Morocco’s assistant coach, described the change before the round of 16. He called Canada “more compact, more composed in build-up” while keeping the same mentality. Morocco then beat Canada 3-0 and sent them home. 1 2
