Deschamps warned about full-back cover behind Dembélé even after 168 forward pressures against Senegal

France’s forwards logged more pressures than Tchouameni and Rabiot combined against Senegal, so Deschamps’s complaint was not about effort. The gap was full-back positioning at ball loss, where Kounde could not cover Dembele’s channel.
Deschamps told reporters after the 3-1 win that Dembele drifting into central areas demands “more rigour after losing the ball.” Doue logged 46 pressures, Olise 45, and Dembele 40 – all exceeding Tchouameni (18) and Rabiot (21) individually.1
