France are not playing as if they are the favorites. You can tell from the players’ mannerisms and the way they pass; in every action, they play as if every game is a knockout match. They play with a hunger that the other teams do not have.

That is different from the other favorites. Even in a meaningless game against Norway, they chase every ball, their step count is high with every dribble, players are always looking to get open off the ball, and they are trying to score.

They are in the rhythm you need to win and get to the final, similar to how Argentina had that fire under their feet to win for Messi in 2022.

Other favorites would fully rotate their starting eleven in the final group match. They would be more lackadaisical on and off the ball. They would slow down. That is something you’d expect from a team like Spain or England.

When you attack every match like it is your final match, when you never leave that rhythm, I think that gives you a better chance to win it all. Not just win; win it all.
