Everything new

Tactics Journal research is live and the website has been completely redesigned. Research is free through May 31st. No credit card required. Here is what is new.

The site has been redesigned. The home page, about page, account page, and research pages were rebuilt around one design system. Less clutter, flatter aesthetic, writing front and center.

Dark mode. Toggle it from the footer, the site menu, or the account page. Your choice persists across pages.

Search. It reads every post on the site and answers questions in plain language, with sources. If it cannot answer, the question routes to me directly. I can respond in real time, and the answer appears in the same chat. If I do not respond in a timely manner, the answer arrives by email.

Research is live. The first report has been posted.

I wrote about it last month. It monitors more football content than any person could. It finds ideas before they cross over. It writes a deep research report every day. It tunes itself overnight. The first report is out May 1st.

I will be making the system powering Tactics Journal research open source soon. It is ready to produce reports for publication, but it will keep improving as I provide feedback and fine-tune it over time.

The Weekly Recap. Every Friday. A short recap of every opinion post and research report from that week. Each recap is structured the same way:

A one-line summary of the report’s finding.

The details:

  • The supporting points in three or four bullets.
  • What the data or the footage shows.
  • Who is doing it and where it is showing up.

Why it matters: A short paragraph that links to the full report.

Opinion posts and the Weekly Recap will remain free forever.

Through May 31st, every research report is free. No credit card required. Starting June 1st, research reports will require a paid subscription.

The lightbulb moment came when the research system took a niche blog post in Spanish, recognized the idea was unique, drafted a 1500+ word report on it with additional sources in under five minutes, and then reviewed it for accuracy. It can do that every day, in any language, multiple times a day, forever.

I have learned more about football in the past two weeks reading what Tactics Journal research outputs than I had in the previous six months.

There is so much high quality football content in other languages that English-speaking audiences miss out on. This solves that. A report can be published in Japanese today, and within five hours I can have a full report in English on it with supporting sources backing up the main claim from Germany, Spain, America, anywhere.

My first goal is to get this running for the public. From there, I want to offer it to professionals and clubs, especially smaller clubs operating on tighter budgets. Imagine research tailored to a specific team’s market and opponents, with reports generated to help plan training and prepare for matches.

I have an entire team of researchers working around the clock for very little cost. This is how you set yourself apart. You use it to broaden your knowledge.

The possibilities are endless, and we are just getting started.
